At Redssen, we understand that one of the most important yet challenging tasks in home life is keeping your duvet cover clean and fresh. Regularly changing your duvet cover is essential for a comfortable and hygienic sleeping environment. However, this routine chore often turns into a frustrating experience.
We know the struggles: wrestling with a heavy duvet core, fumbling with string fasteners, and the exhausting effort required to shake and spread the duvet flat inside its cover. For larger duvets, the task often requires two people, and the raised dust and lint can be a nightmare for those with nasal allergies. For elderly individuals, this simple household task can become an overwhelming burden.
But we knew there had to be a better way — and that belief inspired us to innovate.
Our Goals
A great duvet cover has multiple features. It should be easy to change, with a simple fastener, work with existing cores, and be manageable solo. It must be soft, smooth, and anti-static for comfort. Plus, it should look attractive, be durable, resist dirt, be hypoallergenic for allergy sufferers, and be suitable for pet-owning homes.
That's the duvet cover we aim to provide — one designed to meet everyone's needs.
Preliminary Design
After being inspired by these ideas, we began to explore various concepts, and our teammates proposed many design options, each arguing for its feasibility. Through countless attempts, we found that a design with a large opening on three sides, a soft and long zipper, an easy fixing method, and the addition of high-quality fabrics came closest to the goals we had set out to achieve. For our initial attempts, we first determined the basic style by cutting pieces of paper and settled on an AB two-sided design.
Draft after draft was optimized, the design improved again and again, and the initial paper pattern was carefully cut and refined to achieve the perfect shape.
Then came the new challenge of finding a zipper that was long enough, had a small head, and didn't pinch or snag. At the same time, the fabric needed to be soft, breathable, and anti-static.
The first step was to find a factory with sufficient technical and production capacity to help turn the prototype into a real product, which, after all, requires the support and cooperation of a strong factory.
The second step was to visit numerous fabric markets and look carefully. After three months of high-density research and many long commutes, we finally found a high-gram-weight, high-density polyester fabric and a soft, fine-tooth zipper.
Our creative team at Redssen spent 18 months designing and refining a solution: our patented duvet cover with double zippers that open on three sides. This smart design allows you to easily place or remove your duvet core without hassle. No more awkward shaking, no more tangled strings — just a simple, smooth process that makes changing your duvet cover fast and effortless.
Currently, the product has been granted innovative design patents in Europe, the UK, Japan, and Saudi Arabia, and will be licensed in more countries next. These changes may seem small, but they solve real-life inconveniences, making home life happier and simpler.
